The Mailman's Been Good To Me

I was surpised and excited to get THREE great packages in the mail on Saturday...

1. The Yarn Market News Magazine...a gorgeous, full color magazine for people who sell yarn and work in the yarn-y business.

Do you know what was in the magazine? Read this!

Isn't that cool? I'm not sure what an "aural rave" is, but is sounds positive! (Speaking of podcasting, I've been crazily dyeing fiber and knitting up design number 4, that I'm STILL not done with the podcast....sorry!...I'll try to get it done as soon as I can.)

2. 2 luscious skeins of Lanas Puras worsted weight yarn, in color Hibiscus (pinks and reds...yummy!). These were from the awesome website, One Planet Yarn and Fiber. You should check out the adorable kids pullover you can make with this yarn...it's called "Cabo Hoodie".

This yarn is amazing and the colors deep and true. It's very similar to the construction of Malabrigo merino (single ply), but is maybe a bit more of a wool-y feel. If that makes any sense.

3. My January shipment of handspun yarn from my Spin to Knit Swap pal, Ginger.

The handspun is very, very soft and well made. Ginger did a super job at spinning and plying both of them. I love the baby blue color and the pink/blue yarn is great, too. I was happy it finally came. I only have to figure out what to knit with them now.

Besides receiving lots of great things in the mail, I've been dyeing fiber like crazy. I think I will do a mini tutorial on it and blog that next time. For now, here is the fruit of my loins (uh, I mean, crockpot):

(Top to Bottom, left to right)- "Midnight Rendevous" (superwash merino), "Lemon/Lime Spritzer" (superwash merino), "Blushing Tulips" (merino/tussah silk), and "Tanzanite" (merino/tussah silk).

All three came out perfectly....super soft with no matting or felting and the colors....FANTASTIC! Yesterday, I dyed two more (no pics yet) called "Broccoli Tops" and "Mediterranean Sunset". Both are Babajoes (sp?) 17 micron count merino wool fiber.

Only problem....I ran out of undyed fiber!!!! Ahhhh!

And, one more thing before I go...a pic of my "baby" Ben...who wanted to be a snowman.

Enjoy your Sunday everyone!!! (I'm off to the Superbowl yarn sale at Ewe'll Love It in Nashua, NH. Woo-hoo!

What a great snow shot! It's been too cold here to go out and enjoy it (-15 this morning ACTUAL TEMP)!
So glad to have found your blog!
