Baby Bootie Blunders

Finally in the new house...loving all the new space and my HUGE walk-in closet!...all the more room for my yarn....and space for MORE yarn!

Finished the super delicious, warm scarf for my friend in Winsconsin out of the Plymouth Baby Alpaca Grande yarn...in a blue/green tweedy color. I had enough left over to make him a pair of mittens, too. The pattern from Weekend Knitting for the Super Mittens...very nice...very easy and, if you use the right yarn, super cozy. The scarf was over 6 ft long and a nice width...only needed 3 skeins for both projects total. Now, I'm itching to make myself a pair out of the bubblegum pink....my older son, Tim, has been eyeing the mittens as well in another color. Might surprise him with them for the winter.

Had some trouble last night at knitting with my awesome knitter group....I was talking so much and paying attention to the wonderful new projects everyone was working on that I ended u making a mess out of the baby booties I was making.

I'd already knit one of them at home (in a super soft baby Sirdar dk yarn in white), but my brain went into overload and I lost stitches, added stitches and pretty well made a mess of the thing. Spent some time this morning getting it all set and now I still have more yarn to knit one or two more....still on the first skein! The pattern I'm using is from Ann Norling...a little confusing at first trying to adapt the pattern to working on 2 circulars, but got the hang of it after a while.

Didn't get the Knitted Babes book yet, so I'll be doing another blog this month on the books I mentioned. Also going to be listing my favorite yarns next month and doing a review of the KnitPicks yarns, too. I bought almost one of every kind they have. Would love to hear from you about any of your favorite yarns and favorite knitting books.

Hi Michele! Thanks for taking a look at my blog! It took me about a week or so to make my Babe, but I was so enthusiastic about it that I just worked on it night and day. Now, she's sitting on a very beautiful victorian chair in my bedroom...and she's very happy there. How's your babe coming? Would love to see it!
